The 10th Annual
Staten Island Irish Fair will be held on Saturday June 7th and Sunday
June 8th 2008 at 777 Seaview Ave and Fr. Capodanno Blvd, South Beach
Staten Island.
Our
festival is always a big hit with the Irish of New York with approx
5,000 people passing through the gates last year. Admission is $10 at
the gate or $8 advance purchase. Children under 12 are admitted free
when accompanied by an adult. The entertainment line up is impressive
as usual with popular acts such as Derek Warfield and the Young Wolfetones,
Belfast man Seamus Kennedy, Shillelagh Law, Paddy Noonan and much more.
Festivities
begin Saturday at Noon with opening ceremonies being kicked off by the
Staten Island Pipes and Drums, one of three Pipe Bands participating
this year. The fair runs from 12 Noon to 8pm on Saturday, and continues
again with Mass at 11am on Sunday.

Our
festival is a family centered event so there will also be a "Land
of the Leprechauns" kids area where a $10 ticket entitles the kids
to ride all the rides as many times as they want from 1pm and 5pm.
There
will be over 40 Irish vendors attending to provide a huge array of Irish
food and Imports. The event is sponsored by the Staten Island Irish
Cultrual Center and is the main fundraiser for their Irish American
efforts in the NY area.
